Sam BurmanHi, I'm Sam Burman, I race motorbikes and in 2011 I plan on competing in the fiercely contested British 125GP championship.

I’m totally pumped about next season and through this blog I hope to give you an insight in to what I’m all about, the behind the scenes work that I do to make my racing happen and all the latest news as we prepare and then go racing! Racing is my love, my passion and has been ever since I was born, thanks to a family history in the sport, and I hope you enjoy this – my Girlracer blog.

Winter's supposed to be boring right? Well not this year. I’ve not stopped since the season ended! We are having a huge push to find sponsorship for next season (which is usual winter activity). We’re doing everything we can to raise funds for 2011 and with a workshop filled with over 30 years [yes that’s how long my family have been involved in motorcycle racing] of parts and general brick-a-brack we’ve managed to fill 8 old fuel drums with scrap aluminium to sell. Good old Ebay will be coming in handy too as we found some real treasures to sell and I’ve a feeling a car boot is on the cards too.

One really big positive is that Repli-cast UK will be supplying our body work for the coming season so thanks to all at Repli-cast UK for that – big grin.

In the coming week I’ll be visiting all my local sponsors to give them a personal thank you. Fingers crossed they’ll be able to stay on board for 2011 and the exciting plans I have for British 125 championship.

I managed to fit in a trip to the fabulous Motorcycle Live show at Birmingham’s NEC. I met up with fellow racer Maria Costello who’s helping me out with my PR.

Any other spare moment is spent training. I love cycling and running and with all this countryside on my doorstep [saves on gym membership too] I get to do it in amazing surroundings and working shifts at this time of year is ideal as I get to train in daylight.

In fact I better get ready for work. That’s it for now - catch you later!  Sam....
