DTM ace Ralf Schumacher (Mercedes-Benz) and champion Timo Scheider (Audi) met numerous other sports idols such as Maria Riesch, Steffi Nerius, Nico Rosberg, Heiner Brand, Regina Halmich, Henry Maske, Sven Ottke and Sporthilfe Vice President Franziska van Almsick. The racing drivers drove up with the official DTM Safety Cars of the premium-car manufacturers Audi and Mercedes-Benz. 1800 guests from politics, economy and entertainment accepted the invitation to the benefit of the German top sports and travelled to the Hessian capital. Stars and starlets experienced an exclusive event under the motto ’Eine Nacht auf Eis’ (A Night on Ice). With a spectacular opening performance, Franziska Schenk and other winter sportsmen and sportswomen fuelled the guests pleasant anticipation of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver - while the German pop band ‚Ich & Ich’ made for the music highlight of the evening, with its hits such as ’Pflaster’ and ’Vom selben Stern’. Following the anniversary-show programme performed in the ballroom, the ’Parcours des Sports’ offered the VIP guests the chance of entering the ice themselves. At eight activity stations, young talents and top athletes animated the guests to demonstrate their skills in sports from curling to ice hockey.
As official partner, DTM once again hosted the official after-show party of Europe’s most successful sports-charity event. In the exclusive ’DTM Race Club’ setting featuring two original DTM cars, the celebrities ended the successful anniversary event entertained by live music and a DJ. www.girlracer.co.uk
