| British Rallycross Championship moves final to Mallory Park |

The move has come about after new restrictions covering the usage of Croft Circuit (near Darlington) forced the circuit operator, the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC), to reduce the number of events on its 2009 calendar. The BARC also operates Mallory Park (near Leicester) and has recently gone through the process of designing new loose-surface sections in order to allow Rallycross events to be run at the circuit. "We've been investigating every option for rescheduling the final round of the Kumho Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship for some time, moving to Mallory Park is clearly the best thing we can do. I'm very grateful to [BARC Chief Executive] Dennis Carter for his help in facilitating the move," said championship promoter Amy Doran. The reintroduction of Rallycross to Mallory Park will provide a much needed midlands venue for the sport in Britain. Mallory Park hosted a round of the British championship in June of 1979, but was not been used for Rallycross since that time. The return, after three decades, will be on a bespoke Rallycross track that will use parts of the race circuit and newly constructed gravel sections to produce a mixed-surface track of around one-mile in length. Because of prior bookings, the move to Mallory Park also means the final round of the 2009 Kumho Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship will move from its scheduled date of October 11 to October 18. The accompanying Bill Gwynne Rallyscholl Junior Championship and BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship will also appear at Mallory Park. The change of date and venue is subject to the circuit receiving the necessary approval by the MSA. www.girlracer.co.uk 2009 Kumho Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship (revised)
