In race two again it came down to a fight for the win between Max Biaggi and Marco Melandri with Biaggi managing to hold off race one winner Melandri.
Again Biaggi lead at the start with Melandri passing Eugene Laverty on the first lap for 2ndplace with Carlos Checa following him through into third place. Michel Fabrizo again got a good start taking him up to 5thon lap one. Ayrton Badovini made short work of passing fellow BMW rider Leon Haslam and the Kaswaski of Tom Sykes to move up to 6thplace on lap three. Alex Lowes crashed on lap six after making his World Superbike debut in race one his team mate Ruben Xaus didn't start race two after his highside crash in race one. With Carlos Checa closing the gap on the front two Melandri made his move on lap eight passing Biaggi for the lead on the brakes into turn one but his lead was short lived as Biaggi retook the lead at the right hander at the bottom of the hill. A couple of laps later Melandri got passed Biaggi again this time up the inside into turn three and this time he held on to the lead for a couple of laps before Biaggi got passed into turn one. On the same lap Leon Camier and Jakub Smrz crashed out in separate incidents. After retaking the lead Biaggi tried to pull the pin and while it he shook off the attentions of Checa in third he could not break Melandri who seemed to be able to close the gap in the first three corners on every lap and with two laps to go Melandri made his move at turn three again and while he was able to hold Biaggi off for a few corners the Aprilia rider was able to retake the lead and take the win. Carlos Checa's championship lead has shrunk slightly but two third places for him today limited the damage to his point lead with Biaggi and Melandri taking wins.
