They Can Because They Think They Can! Print E-mail

Kayla Kahn & Samantha StewartLiving the life of glitz and glamour seemed to be what our life consisted of the day a financial partner came knocking on our door of natural talent.

Sweat, blood, tears and determination crossed our minds like the sun rays that blast through your window at sunrise; we were unstoppable. This is Motocross; open your mind up to all observations you see as your reality and dig deep into the realm of all that is and all that could be! It all started with 3 simple words, "Let's do it!" Words are just words but passion is Spirit and with being in-spirit, the most incredible life changing forces subside between the thick layers of pure will and determination; this is where we come into play.

My name is Kayla Kahn and I am 22 years young and my friend Samantha Stewart is 29. Together  we have been by each other's sides through thick and thin...literally!

After an unfortunate misunderstanding in June of 2010, between a well-known business man, his photographer and ourselves, all came to an end without one rhyme or reason why. They were going to take care of us financially to make Motocross our full-time commitment and focus where all of our expenses were to be paid and in exchange, we were also to do some print modeling regarding his business and our agreement. After just previously leaving our places of employment, we were faced with no other choice than to sell all that we owned because rent was due that week! After only making a little over $200 in selling our belongings at the local swap meet, we could not make rent and the only person that offered us a place to stay was my Great Uncle out in Oregon. We took the long, 16 hour drive from California to Oregon and arrived to what we had been told was "a get away and a fresh start".

Little did we know, we arrived to a home 40 miles away from the nearest town, built of all recycled garage doors and scrap wood nailed to what was left over of a trailer park trailer and a toilet that consisted of a hole leading to a huge bucket placed strategically in the ground. This was a complete eco-friendly way of living and was more than just a culture shock to us! There was no reception, no internet, no land-line, BUT a 1/4 acre of Bamboo! Long story short, we hand carved tobacco pipes out of the Bamboo stalks and after a couple weeks at the farmer's market, we managed to get them into two of MotoCross AirOregon's top smoke shops! We used the income to keep our dream alive and try to find sponsors and land newspapers in the area in hopes of gaining a partnership, yet again. That was short lived due to the long haul back up the windy roads to his home and all we were doing was breaking even. We decided it was in our best interest to sleep in our car. After a certain time period, we were offered a place to shower and a place where we felt somewhat safe. Things just weren't going as planned and it was at that point in time where we knew we had to put in more effort then we already were, even though we were exhausting ourselves and working more than the average person at a 9-5 job. We gathered what little we had left to our names and ventured back to California where we were offered a place to stay for 6 months to get on our feet. We arrived January 22nd of 2011 and within this time period (from then until now) we have promoted ourselves and pushed ourselves as hard as we could! We are very determined individuals and follow our dream no matter how rough the road may get!

So with that being said, we got our website up and running- www.KaylaKahnMX.com, started our clothing line- MotoMizfit, bought a trailer to haul the dirtbike in (which was custom painted by Samantha and myself to match the website) that we currently pull behind our car with a hitch, made it to my first motocross race and a couple afterwards- placing podium every time and clearly stating what we are here to accomplish. We are exceeding over 16 publications world-wide and are now being featured  by Fox 5 San Diego News towards the end of this month as well as being in contact with a top production company in Hollywood, CA regarding our own docu-series tv show! Our bike sponsor just as a couple of weeks ago took the bike back for another rider in need, which has now left us striving to achieve a little bit further than what we expected. We are majorly in need of a bike now but have come so far, we will NEVER give up and know that our time has come and is getting closer every second!

I WILL be getting my Pro License for racing Motocross and we are determined to make a stand for Equality in the Sports Industry, firmly believing that we are all alike and there is no difference between a man pursuing a talent OR a woman! Goals are goals, ambitions are ambitions and a face is just a face; what someone is suppose to do in their lives will manifest regardless of the gender of the being! This is our journey, this is our story, and this is our mission. Please join us in making a path that will last longer than we do! Any donations are greatly appreciated as we strive to achieve and always remember as Eckhart Tolle says, "The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it." Change is a beautiful vibration to make things right, A vibration with high frequency insight. You chose your path on the road of choice, silence your mouth and listen to your inner voice!  Kayla Kahn and Samantha Stewart
