While we wait for the launch of the MP4-27, TORO ROSSO, LOTUS, and WILLIAMS have come up with a few announcements of their own. First up, TORO ROSSO have renewed their sponsorship deal with Falcon. “Scuderia Toro Rosso is pleased to announce that Falcon Private Bank has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the team, thus becoming an official team partner for the 2012 season,” the team announced in a press release. “The Swiss wealth management specialist, Falcon Private Bank has been a sponsor of Scuderia Toro Rosso since May 2011. This year, the company’s logo will appear on the front of the car and on the front wing endplates, as well as on the race suits of Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne and on Scuderia Toro Rosso team kit. Franz Tost said: ‘Since Falcon Private Bank joined us last year, we have built up a close relationship on both a business and a personal level. It is therefore very gratifying that we will be working together again this year and I firmly believe that both parties will enjoy a successful season, moving the relationship forward to a new and even more productive level.’” LOTUS (last year’s Renault) have had something of a management reshuffle. “In line with its continued commitment to building a successful future through investing both in facilities and human resources, Lotus F1 Team is pleased to announce the strengthening of its management team,” the team announced in a press release. “This initiative sees Patrick Louis promoted from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer. Luxembourg-born Patrick joined the company in 2010. His initial focus was on restructuring the processes and structures at Enstone. His new role will concentrate on the efficient utilisation of this restructuring. Swiss-born Thomas Mayer has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer. Thomas joins the team with a wealth of experience in managing human resources, effective processing and production. He will work in close relationship with Patrick Louis and Eric Boullier. Gerard Lopez, Chairman, Lotus F1 Team said: ‘Our fight to return to the front of the grid is a continual process, and we are leaving no stone unturned. The contributions that Patrick Louis and Eric Boullier have made so far have been invaluable, and we are now able to better focus their efforts through the addition of Thomas Mayer as Chief Operating Officer. Thomas comes to us with over 15 years’ professional experience. He has an in-depth knowledge of running large operations incorporating production, logistics and organisational structuring. Our efforts are concerted behind our objective to be a contender once more for the 2015-16 championships, to continue the proud heritage of the 1994-95 and 2005-6 world championship titles achieved by Enstone.’” Finally, WILLIAMS have confirmed the details of their launch: “The Williams F1 Team will present its 2012 Williams-Renault FW34 on Tuesday 7 February at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in Spain.” Check back here tomorrow for the latest news direct from the teams.
