That is of course unless you are in the #88 half of the TeamVodafone garage after Jamie Whincup won not only the third and final race but the weekend overall. Crowd favourite Jason Richards started from second on the grid, but after suffering a massive brake lock up, went off into the gravel. The drama's didn't end there after Rick Kelly and Craig Lowndes came together, causing a chain of events that saw five Warren Luff, David Reynolds and Steven Johnson caught up in a massive accident, leaving them all out of the race before the first lap was even completed. The safety car soon came out and after an extended period under yellow, racing began again only to see Paul Dumbrell end up parked against the wall after a less than friendly bit of help from Steve Owen. Lap seven also saw Richards retire due to broken drive plugs on the rear hub of his #14 Team BOC Holden Commodore. Not one to let it get to him, the ever heroic Kiwi was still thrilled with the way his weekend has gone despite being unable to finish the final race. Out the front Whincup battled with Alex Davison until the #4 Irwin Ford had to complete his pitstop. This gave the former a clear run to the end of the race which was shortened by 6 laps to make up for the time spent under safety car and keep the Formula One schedule on time. Murphy, Tander, Van Gisbergen and Todd Kelly made up the remainder of the top five for the third and final race, with Tander and Van Gisbergen second and third overall for the Albert Park 400.
