It was meant to be a quick trip to the shops but the next thing I knew I was changing the wheel of an F1 car!

Making my way through the summer sales crowds I had ended up at the FMCG International stand. I enquired politely what was going on and jumped at the chance to have a go at an F1 pit stop. I pulled on the safety gloves and was ready for the challenge.

A place on the league table beckoned so I listened carefully as I was given clear instructions for using the high performance air gun. It was quite heavy but simple to use; one quick blast to remove the wheel nut, whilst the wheel is being changed throw the switch, then another quick blast to replace the wheel nut.

After a quick practice with the gun, stop-watch poised and it was go go go. I was helped by a kick of adrenalin and was chuffed to be told my time was 3.94 seconds. This put me right at the top of the league table. Clearly I’m the girl McLaren were missing at the British Grand Prix!
