Stormgirl – the girlracer interview Print E-mail

Stormgirl Some things in life you're never quite prepared for. Interviewing a superhero is one of them.

Do you interview the person, or the heroic alter ego? What questions can you ask without revealing their real identity? Not quite sure where to begin when asked to interview Stormgirl©, part woman, part superhero, part brand, I started with the obvious...

GR: Who is Stormgirl? Is she animal, vegetable, or mineral? Human, alien, or other?

Stormgirl is human, an ordinary girl who turned her life around after surviving the carnage of loss and tragedy.

"When you’ve lost everything, there’s nothing left to lose."

GR: What are you allowed to tell us about Stormgirl's backstory? Where did she come from? What made her decide to fight crime while driving fast?

Stormgirl carries wounds from her past, for the loss of three things she loved, yet she came through the hurricane and found her inner strength after stepping in to her super powered sports car – the Nissan 370z – she discovered her true self.  It was a serendipitous moment when an envelope dropped through her door, inviting her to test drive the new Nissan 370z.  It was the day that changed her life for better.

Fuelled by her passion to defend and protect others, she speeds through the streets at night fighting off the evil underground world of criminals.  Stormgirl has ‘eyes that see in to infinity’… she can see what is going to happen before it happens and gets to the scene lightening fast.  The only thing she can’t see is her future, and she fights to stay alive every day.  Using her excellent driving skills and precision martial arts, she sets out to rid London of organized crime.

Stormgirl does not kill, as she wouldn’t even step on an insect; she has a deep compassion for all life.  But she battles with her conscience as knows she has to do whatever it takes to ensure others are safe from harm.  She uses her super powered 370z to chase off the enemies. Always winning out in a duel race.

"There’s a superhero in us all. Any challenge is there to make us stronger."

GR: What has been Stormgirl's biggest adventure so far?

Stormgirl’s adventures have only just begun. She has to battle to fight and stay alive every day as she has been sent by an Ancient Japanese Gods to fight off the evil underground world of crime to prevent a Japanese warrior from returning to the capital to cause chaos and destruction.

GR: Does Stormgirl have a human alter ego? What can you tell us about the human side of Stormgirl?

‘Stormgirl’ is Fior’s alter-ego… Fior is a kind compassionate and fiery character; she never gives up as she believes that she has a purpose in life, and she has found it through her transformation in becoming Stormgirl. Her goal is to bring truth and justice to light.  Her tenacity is her strength and her only weakness is for the love she lost, but he is now her biggest nemesis.  She has power, supreme control, beauty and soul.

GR: What's the fastest car you've ever driven?

StormgirlFior Stormgirl has driven a variety of superfast cars, including the Chevrolet Camaro V8, Ford GT Mustang 4.6 V8, Audi R8, BMW M3, Aston Martin DBS 6ltr V12, but best of all she has stormed around the Silverstone racetrack in both the Nissan GT-R and 370z.

GR: What was your first car? Did you get up to any adventures in it?

Before Fior became Stormgirl, one of her biggest fears was driving; she would only set out in her 1.4 Fiat Grande Punto, with her ‘P’ for new driver on her car, and then rarely go out in it.

So after she lost everything, she was determined to face her fears and took a huge leap by treading the tarmac at Silverstone racetrack and won through.

GR: What has been your most exciting driving experience so far?

Being invited to take part in the Nissan Race Academy, at Silverstone in October 2009.  It was a huge jump from being fearful of driving to suddenly finding myself racing around in the super powered Nissan GT-R V6 engine/500bhp and the stunning 370z V6 330bhp, on one of the world’s most famous of F1 race tracks!

GR: You took part in the Nissan Race Academy 2009. What did you learn from the experience? Would you recommend it to others?

It was an exhilarating experience to suddenly be given a taste for the fast lane (having covered up the fact that I had motion sickness!). I remember asking my instructors for the day if they trusted me and they replied “yes we trust you, now put your foot to the floor girl”. And I did! (laughs out loud)

There is no doubt that anyone who enjoys the thrill of driving a supercar just has to get on the track to experience the freedom and power it gives you.

I felt completely transformed and will be going back again to drive even faster and better.

GR: If you had to swap your 370Z for another car, what would it be?

Stormgirl loves her Nissan 370z, it has changed her life; now I fully understand the importance and love that men give their cars. Perhaps she’d like a V8 370z… something even more dynamic and monumentally fast, with a high-powered output to enhance her driving performance.

Stormgirl is excited about putting other cars to the test too, and would love to feel the full throttle of the Bugatti Veryon, and other supercars, including a Russian ally car known as the ‘Marussia’.

GR: Stormgirl is involved in loads of projects – what can you tell us about the movie and comic? Will we be seeing you on the big screen in the near future?

Stormgirl has endless possibilities and future projects in the pipeline.  Her first major appearance will be at the London Film & Comic Con, at Earl’s Court II London, on StormgirlSaturday 17th & Sunday 18th July 2010.  She will be giving away signed photographs and giving comic book fans a sneak preview of her up and coming feature film, by showing a two-minute teaser trailer.

Stormgirl met executive producer Beau Rogers in February 2010, after he heard her story at the Raindance Live Ammunition.

To follow on from the teaser trailer, a script has been written for a feature film or even a TV series.

Stormgirl has generated a lot of interest and so far proven hugely positive and I have been receiving offers and invites to many prominent events.

Stormgirl recently attended the Gumball 3000 Rally 2010, and received a huge welcome from the crowds, and the most common questions were: 1) Can I have my picture taken with you? 2) Can Stormgirl come and save me? and 3) Can you take me for a spin in your 370z?

A Stormgirl launch event is proposed for summer 2010, [and I] will invite people to come and check out my wheels!

I have thought about the possibility of a ‘Stormgirl Race Academy’ one that teaches females of all ages to take to the track and gives them confidence to handle their vehicle.

GR: Does Stormgirl have a superhero nemesis? Or any allies?

Stormgirl is honoured and protected by ancient Japanese Gods, and has been sent by them to rid the world of the organized crime. Who knows, maybe Iron Man and Daredevil will call upon Stormgirl for her super insight and speed one day? She knows only of the nemesis of the man she once loved. Her allies are yet to be discovered and her foes will not stop her in her plight to fight crime and injustice.

"Fear is an illusion, losing is not an option."

GR: What are Stormgirl's plans for the future?

Stormgirl will continue to work to fight for justice and to rid the world of crime.  She is passionate about lending her voice to those who are in need and fights for justice for all.

The United Nations may call on Stormgirl to be one of their loyal envoys.

A Stormgirl graphic novel comic, which is currently being written and illustrated, giving a snippet from the film.

Setting up a Stormgirl Race Academy to encourage females to race and become skilled drivers.

Feature film and the possibility of a television series.

Drifting at the British Drift Championships and Time Attack.  Stormgirl's appearances include her drifting with a team of skilled drifting drivers.

GR: Has Stormgirl ever incurred the wrath of the law while fighting crime? Do the police give
you speeding tickets when you're on a rescue mission, or are the boys in blue on your side?

The law have been known to feel threatened by Stormgirl, because with her ‘super sight’ she sees the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.  Sometimes this means seeing behind the veil of deceit of the boys in blue.  She has been stopped by the police on occasions for no real reason, only to discover that it was because she stands out of the crowd in her Storm White 370z.

Stormgirl has witnessed that in some cases, ‘Absolute Power, Corrupts Absolutely.”
