JAPANESE car manufacturer Mazda is renowned for creating
some of the most striking concept cars ever penned,
and there’ll be no exception at this year’s
Paris International Motor Show.
The Mazda Kiyora (meaning “clean and pure”
in Japanese) is a lightweight, next generation, urban
compact concept car, and will be having its world premiere
on 2 October, press day, at the Show.
The concept of “Kiyora” led the designers
to think of a city car cutting cleanly through an urban
landscape, with water as the design theme, and the car
is said to represent the harmony between driving pleasure
and environmental and safety features in line with Mazda’s
long-term technology development vision, “Sustainable
Zoom-Zoom”.
The facelifted Mazda MX-5 will also be making its world
debut at the Show, together with a Mazda6 equipped with
Mazda’s newly developed 2.2-litre turbo diesel
engine, and a 1.6-litre diesel Mazda2.
Officially titled the Mondial de l’Automobile,
public days for the 2008 Paris motor show run from Saturday
4 October to Sunday 19 October 2008.
