| About me: I
have been going stockcar racing with my mum and dad
ever since I was born and it has stayed in my heart
all my life, I have always enjoyed it. Last year (2007)
I started racing a national ministox at the age of 13,
I have only been in the sport for 1 full season of racing,
but during this last season I have learnt so much about
engines and driving. Now just by watching the other
cars race I learn about handling and how to take each
corner. During my first season I haven't really done
as well as I hoped, as I have been getting used to racing,
but the more races I take part in the more my confidence
has grown.
We race most Saturdays and Sundays, sometimes on bank
holidays. We race at many different oval tracks up and
down the country, and one track in the isle of man,
some tracks are shale but the majority are tarmac. Typically
the tracks are about 350 meters long with either an
armaco or post and wire fencing. This provides lots
of action and requires lots of skill to get round as
unlike most racing sports this one is full contact.
For 2008 I am really looking forward to another full
season of racing I hope to start winning some trophies
to show my progress. I'm also looking forward to some
out of season meetings in February. If you are intrigued
by my racing career you can find out more about the
sport on: www.nationalministoxclub.co.uk.
