| Unlike many people in
the sport, I don’t have any family background
in rallying or any kind of motor sport for that matter!
Despite this I have grown up always having a passion
for cars and from this I developed a keen interest in
rallying.
My first real taster of rallying was at a one day rally
driving course at Silverstone Rally School where I was
taught the basics of hand-brake turns and powerslides
etc. I came away from that day with an adrenalin rush
like I’d never felt before….and that feeling
never seemed to go away! From there I made it my aim
to get involved in the sport properly as I really felt
it had got into my blood!
In 2006 I won the Silverstone Rally School Lady Quest
scholarship which had a prize of a year’s rallying
– fully sponsored! Through the scholarship I competed
in an MG ZR in national level forest stage rallies all
over the UK and achieved several class wins!
Since completing the scholarship I have continued competing
in rallying, this time in my VW Polo rally car which
is a fantastic little rally car and I am very grateful
to my team for all their extremely hard work and support!
We plan to compete in a full British National Rally
Championship next season.
Outside rallying I work as a PA in a London Investment
Bank. I studied music at university and so in my spare
time (when I’m not rallying of course!) I am also
a soprano soloist and play the bassoon in a trio called
Trillium, performing at concerts and weddings.
Becoming involved in rallying is the best thing I could
ever have done, I have met so many great people within
the sport, got involved in all sorts of exciting things,
for example charity calendars like Gravel Girls which
we did for the Wales Air Ambulance, and Pacenotes and
Pearls for the Richard Burns Foundation…I’m
having the time of my life - I hope it never ends!!
