I started autograss racing when i was 12, in the juniors.
I'm now 15 and i'm currently still racing in the junior
section and will be until i am 16. I've been going to
race meetings basically all of my life as my Grandparents
and Dad and Uncle have all been doing it over past years.
I live in Manea, Cambridgeshire but race at meetings
all over the country.
I race a 1000cc standard mini race engine. I race at
club, british and national level and last year came
13th overall in the British Autograss Series which takes
place over 5 rounds. I also made my first BAS final,
and finished second out of all the girls participating
in the British Autograss Series.
The 2008 season is just about to start and i am hopeing
that i'll be taking part in all the big rounds again
this year, including one BAS round in Ireland. I havn't
got a new car for this season but it has been re-panelled
as i rolled in my last meeting of 2007. It's also had
an engine re-build which has been done my my Dad and
brothers.
I use the number ST141 as i race for Sturton and Stow
autograss club which is situated in Lincoln. The number
also comes from my Nan, who used it when she raced.
I love autograss and can't imagine ever giving it up
although i would love to have a go in some other kind
of autosport. I can't wait to be able to have a go in
a rear wheel drive car when i'm 16 and am old enough
to race in ladies rather than juniors.
The atmousphere at every autograss meeting is amazing,
and its great to be able to do something you enjoy with
your whole family. Me, my 2 brothers, my uncle and my
dad all race, and all enjoy the social side and of course
the racing side of it!
