1989 Took part her very first karting
event at Three Sisters Track.
1998 Attended her very first track
day at the AutoItalia day at Donington.
1998 Took part in a track day at the
Fulda Fiat Track Day at Cadwell Park.
2003 Competed in a track day in a VW
Golf GTi standard road car and came 7th out of over
30 male competitors.
2003 Started a part time career in
Motor Journalism writing for Club GTi’s Rabbit,
Golf + and VW Motoring magazines.
2003 Entered a competition from the
Racing Rivals TV program to win a fully funded racing
scholarship in 2004. Not only was she the only girl
to get chosen for a chance to drive, but also out of
over 100 guys, was one of 10 to get through to the very
last round.
2003 Attended a VW track day and came
5th out of 18 male only competitors, and in a standard
road car.
2004 Entered a competition from the
Formula Woman to win a fully funded racing scholarship
with Mazda. Out of 10,432 entrants, she was one of the
17 girls chosen to compete and had her first 2 races
shown on ITV1 straight after the Silverstone Grand Prix.
She was very competitive despite limited time before
hand in the car.
2004 Attended a VW track day and came
7th out of 25 male only competitors in an underpowered
road car.
2004 Came 2nd place out of 12 teams
in an endurance karting race of 45 mins.
2005 Chosen by Formula Woman as a racing
instructor for 2005/6.
2006 Attended a trackday and came 8th
out of 35 male only competitors.
2007 Qualified for the Nuts Magazine
- Formula Nuts Clio Cup Schollarship Semi-Final round.
2008 - Karen, approached by Fusion
Events, now works as a Mazda Specialist Demonstrator
and travels the UK test driving the new Mazda brand
range to potential customers.
2008 - Mallory Park Circuit saw Karen
head off the competition and raise her profile on the
Racing Circuit.
