The
show this year was not as well organised as some car
and cruise clubs may have hoped for, but still attracted
a variety of car enthusiasts and huge crowds on the
Sunday of the show. There was a real mixture of proper
Max Powered cars side by side with standard or near
standard motors to cater for all tastes.
A bevy of half-naked ladies in hot pants promoting
several different cruise clubs on their rears kept
the lads entertained, whilst guest DJ Spoony from
Radio 1 did his thang spinning the decks in the grandstand
playing infectious arse wiggling drum ‘n’
bass. After his set, Spoony was a good sport by givin’
it large riding a Mini Moto around a temporary track
whilst wearing his £200 designer shoes, to chants
from the crowd of ‘Spoony!’ ‘Spoony!’
Amy (Racingbabe) supported her new Essex boy cruise
mates on their stand and had her fierce Punto GT on
show. Whilst on a wander, a gawjusly modded orange
and black crowd-pullin’ Peugeot 206 with a boot
full of I.C.E and nitrous caught my eye, which was
probably helped by the glare from its seriously shiny
presence. The top dog contenders for the show and
shine trophy of the weekend had already won plenty
of awards from previous events such as Redline Rumble
and Mean Street Cruise and were proud to show-off
their pride and joys again.
For the first time at one of these events, a rally
experience as a passenger in a works Renault Megane
was put on for people who’d rather like to see
their 99 cone again. I have to say although I didn’t
volunteer I was certainly a witness to the green-faced
people falling out of the rally car at the end.
As for me, well although I got bored of seeing rather
too many glamour models over the weekend with tassles
on their baps, I’m still star struck that I
met and spoke to the ravenously gorgeous DJ Spoony.
Phhooaarrrr! I’m off to take a cold shower!
