| Akin, IL (September 2, 2008) –
In only her fourth start on a dirt track surface Gabi
DiCarlo redeemed herself for her struggles at the Illinois
State Fair’s Springfield Mile. Gabi continued
her fast paced learning curve with a much more successful
run on another famous Illinois dirt track, the Flying
Mile of the DuQuoin Fairgrounds. The Great Clips Racing
Team led by crew chief Randy Nelson fought the ever
changing track conditions to provide DiCarlo a much
better handling racer.
“I was really able to get a much better feel
for the track, every change that Randy would make, made
the car better,” said Gabi.
DiCarlo qualified in the 33rd position and gained 11
tough earned spots through the field to garner a respectable
22nd place finish.
The team will now head back to DiCarlo’s more
favored asphalt surface and the very fast Chicagoland
Speedway in Joliet Illinois for the running of the ARCA/REMAX
Series Chicagoland ARCA 200. The team will debut a special
Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus “Best of Both Worlds”
paint scheme on the Great Clips Toyota Camry.
