Already a winner there earlier this year in a round of the European Series, Girlracer’s Izzy Ferrada was among the 700+ entries for this event. Although still 13, Izzy has finished 3rd in the National Series for 13-15 year old girls, only beaten by two 15 year olds. Izzy showed her class at by winning all her Motos and her Semi-Final, but knew the Final would be the tough one. It was! Fighting hard all the way, she rode strongly to finish 2nd, only just behind the new National Series champion. ‘It is always disappointing coming 2nd – but I know I just couldn’t have ridden any quicker! 2009 has been a brilliant year, with support from AlansBMX/Shimano DXR and Girlracer. The 15 year old girls who have been winning this year are all moving out of the 13-15 yr Girl class. I will still be here – but know that there are many very talented riders coming into BMX from other cycling disciplines, like 4x. Winning is never easy!’ Izzy’s final race of the year, before the Winter Series of events begin, will be at Norwich this weekend for the East Anglia Championships. www.girlracer.co.uk
