Izzy Ferrada wins final round of BMX regional series

The Final Round of the East Anglia Regional BMX Series took place at Royston, Herts, on 6 September. Izzy had missed a number of rounds during the year racing elsewhere, including at the European Championships in Denmark.

Entering this Final Round in the 13 year Boys class and lying 5th in the Series, the only way Izzy could win was to race at her very best!

She did! In her Motos, she was 1st, 5th and 2nd. Come the Final, Izzy just flew to an emphatic win….but it wasn’t enough. Even though she beat the eventual champion in this last round, our BMX Girlracer was 2nd in the Series.

‘I know I finished 2nd in the Series, but to win the Final Round against the champion was a good feeling. That’s racing! This win has made me more determined than ever to go for the win in the British Championships! The 15 year old girls I am up against are 2 years older and are brilliant riders. …but I’m still going for it! I hope lots of Girlracers will be there cheering me on!’

Izzy’s eyes are therefore now firmly focused on the British BMX Championships at Cheddar on 20th September. Already a winner there this year in a round of the European BMX Series, Izzy is really looking forward to getting on the top step of the podium.
